Portland, Oregon’s Damian Lillard is the first athlete to have a spot at Adidas’ North America facility renamed after him.
Adidas surprised Damian Lillard with a basketball court dedication ceremony during his visit to their headquarters. The Damian Lillard Court at Adidas’ Portland campus is the first location named after an athlete by the company. Lillard, who played for the Trailblazers until a trade to the Milwaukee Bucks last summer, expressed deep gratitude for the honor. This marks the first time he faces the Trailblazers as an opponent since the trade. Lillard has been an Adidas athlete since 2012, and his signature sneaker line, Adidas Dаme 8 ExtPly, was recently released in August. Unlike Nike, Adidas is breaking tradition by naming a location after an athlete, making Lillard a trailblazer in this regard. The dedication ceremony included a memorial video highlighting his career and community service.
