On Thursday night, the NBA will host its annual regular-season game in Europe, with all eyes turning to Paris. The Brooklyn Nets and Cleveland Cavaliers will face off at the Accor Arena in an exciting Eastern Conference matchup. Superstars like Donovan Mitchell and Mikal Bridges are set to draw fans from France and beyond, ensuring a sold-out crowd at the 20,300-capacity arena.

A recent study by Hotels.com, the NBA’s official travel partner, revealed a 10% international and 45% American surge in hotel searches for the Paris game compared to the following week. This suggests a growing trend among NBA fans seeking a global basketball experience.

In the UK, searches for Paris spiked by 10%, indicating continued interest despite the previous regular-season games being held at the O2 Arena in London. Last year’s game took place in Detroit, where the Chicago Bulls emerged victorious with a score of 126-108.

Both the Nets and the Cavaliers have playoff aspirations this year, adding extra excitement to Thursday’s game. The Cavaliers currently hold the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference with a 21-15 record, while the Nets stand in tenth place with a 16-21 record.

Players from both teams express their enthusiasm for the upcoming event. Donovan Mitchell looks forward to playing in Paris, emphasizing the unique experience of being outdoors near iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower. Coach J.B. Bickerstaff expresses gratitude for the honor of representing the NBA and Cleveland, highlighting the team’s camaraderie during such events.

Brooklyn center Nic Claxton shares his excitement about the opportunity to play in Paris and travel to Europe, acknowledging the value of such experiences for the team. Reflecting on a previous visit to China, Claxton anticipates substantial benefits from this unique opportunity, including special events and practice days that will strengthen the team’s bonds.
