A record-breaking golden carp weighing 50 kilograms was caught in Champagne, France, by a fisherman. Known as “The Carrot,” it was released by BlueWater Lakes fishery 20 years ago and has since grown to become one of the world’s largest carp. Being a carp-koi hybrid, The Carrot’s size serves as a reminder not to release pets into the wild, as they can disrupt ecosystems and compete with native species for resources.
