Tilly’s life began in a scrap pile next to a football field. She was left there to fend for herself against beasts much larger than herself. Every day, Tilly was bullied and every scrap of food she found was taken away. She was tightly packed together with other dogs, dirty and smelly.
It was impossible to know how long Tilly had lived in this situation. She was so weak that she couldn’t even stand on her own two feet. Tilly was in dire need of help, and thankfully someone came to her rescue.
Tilly was taken to the vet for necessary tests, and it was discovered that she was covered in thousands of ticks. She also had direfilaria, heart disease, and tumors on her breast and anus. The vet decided to keep her under supervision and start treatment immediately.
Tilly was delicate but brave, showing her affection by wagging her tail despite her dire condition. Over the course of almost three weeks, Tilly’s health slowly improved, and she gained strength. Finally, surgery was performed to remove the tumor, and Tilly woke up from anesthesia to see herself once more.
Tilly’s journey was a testament to the power of courage and survival. Despite the cruelty she had endured, Tilly never gave up hope. She showed incredible resilience and strength in the face of unimaginable adversity.
